'It's not a way to be living!' - Pregnant mum claims damp and mould in Wolverhampton flat has left her sleeping on mattress on living room floor
A pregnant mum claims she has been left to sleep on a mattress on her living room floor due to problems with damp and mould in her Wolverhampton flat.
Reania King said she started noticing damp and mould in her property in Elliot Court, off Birmingham New Road near Lanesfield, in March of last year, shortly after moving in.
As a result of the problems, the 25-year-old student nurse, who is expecting her son in a few weeks, said she has been forced to sleep in her living room with her two-year-old daughter since November of last year.
The property is managed by Wolverhampton Homes on behalf of Wolverhampton Council.
Reania said: "In March I could feel a bit of mould and damp in the front bedroom. I contacted the repairs team [at Wolverhampton Homes] and they came to look at the damp on the wall and painted over it.
"...From about November I moved my mattress into the front room because I could no longer sleep in that room anymore. I have been sleeping in the front room until now."
