Dudley Council has given notice of their intention to make an order to temporarily close Vicarage Road, Wollaston, for more than two weeks.
The proposed restriction will close the route for traffic from January 27 to facilitate gas replacement mains works on or near the affected road.
The works are expected to be completed on Friday, February 14, however, the order will remain in place for up to 18 months, or until the work is completed.
Dudley Council said: "Notice is hereby given that Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make an Order, the effects of which will be the temporary closure of Vicarage Road, Wollaston. The purpose of the restrictions is to safely facilitate gas mains replacement works on or near the affected road.
"The Order will come into force on Monday 27th January 2025 and the works are anticipated to be completed on Friday 14th February 2025. The Order may remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier."
Diversion for vehicular traffic will be via: High Street, Wentworth Road, Gerald Street and vice versa.
Diversions for HGV traffic will be via: High Street, Bridgenorth Road, Wollaston Road and vice versa.
