Lightweight boxer Connor Lee Jones, aged 28, was supposed to be picking up his brother Callum, aged 25, after a night out on July 31, 2020 when they along with Gavin Patel set upon bystanders who were trying to break up a fight between two women near the JD Wetherspoon Full Moon pub.

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that the sportsman's boxing licence was suspended as a result of the prosecution.

Sentencing them Mr Recorder Charles Foster said: "I have to deal with you for a number of offences relating to an appalling act of violence. You are all facing sentencing for the section 20 wounding offence.

"I have had the depressing  experience of watching the CCTV footage which makes the role each of you played in this fracas very clear."
