Jailed: Rapist who attacked woman near Stafford hotel
A man has been jailed for the rape of a woman near to a Stafford hotel.

At about 8pm on April 21 last year, the woman was walking near to the Vine Hotel on Salters Street when she was approached by Abiola Raji and attacked.
Police carried out enquiries to track him down including checking CCTV footage from the scene and issuing an appeal for information.
Raji was arrested on May 1 of the same year. The 32-year-old, of Stafford, went on to plead guilty to raping a woman.
He was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday (January 23) to six years and eight months in prison, with an extended license period of thee years and four months. He was also put on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
DC Ryan Barber, from the Staffordshire Police rape and serious sexual offences unit, said: “I’d like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information at the time to help us identify Raji and put him before the courts for his crime.
“I’d also like to recognise the tremendous bravery of the survivor to come forward and say what happened to her.
“Through her courage and the work of officers, we’ve been able to put a dangerous sex offender behind bars.”
