West Midlands Police have highlighted some of the more recent achievements by the teams in Wolverhampton and acknowledged the work by officers on the ground.

This included officers from Wednesfield & Heath Town Police patrolling to offer reassurance to residents after reports of youngsters causing a nuisance, while officers in Ettingshall, Blakenhall & Spring Vale have been targeting uninsured cars.

Members of Tettenhall, Penn & Merry Hill Police closed down two cannabis farms in Whitmore Reans and Graiseley and PCSOs from the same team also took the time to speak to children at St Michael's Pre-School about their work.

Finally, officers from St Peter's, Park and Graiseley Police helped to find two abandoned dogs found on Penn Road with new homes and officers were out in Tettenhall and Pendeford telling shoppers about the WMnow service.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Our neighbourhood officers are on the ground, across Wolverhampton to tackle the concerns and crimes that matter to our residents and over the last few days that's included anti-social behaviour, uninsured drivers and drugs farms.

"Over with Wednesfield & Heath Town Police, they'd been told about youngsters causing a nuisance in Heath Town so the teams are carrying out regular patrols to provide reassurance and talk with residents.

"Officers at Ettingshall, Blakenhall & Spring Vale Police were out with colleagues from WMP Traffic this week targeting uninsured vehicles, with a number of cars and vans being recovered and their owners being dealt with through the courts.

"Two cannabis farms have been closed down after Tettenhall, Penn & Merry Hill Police acted on local intelligence and discovered grows at two separate properties in the Whitmore Reans and Graiseley areas.

"These have now been dismantled and destroyed and illegal drugs have been stopped from getting out onto the streets.

"Two PCSOs from that team took the opportunity to speak to some of our youngster residents when they went to St Michael's Pre-School and talked to the children in nursery about 'People who help us'

"They answered lots of questions and saw plenty of smiley faces, especially when some of the children got the chance to sit in the police van.

"And two abandoned dogs have had a chance to find a new home after they were found in a bush on Penn Road with officers from St Peter's, Park and Graiseley Police taking them to be rehomed by Birmingham Dogs Home.

"Officers have also been out in Tettenhall and Pendeford telling shoppers about WMNow and how they can sign up to our free information service to keep in the know about activity in their area.
