Laura Liptrot will take to the stage at Jelleyman's Mill, Kidderminster, a historic venue which champions creative art and crafts.

The former Kidderminster College student will perform readings from her debut novel Dreamcatchers and upcoming book The Green Boy, which is set to be published in May.

A book of poems entitled 'I am not a Padlock' was published last year.

She said: "I wrote my first poem at school at the age of 10, then another, and then had a hiatus of 15 years but haven't stopped writing since.

"I love writing in an optimistic voice, and, though some of my work challenges injustice in the world, for the most part, I seek to bring some colour and magic into people’s lives."

As well as writing, she is also an actor and artist, and regularly appears at Katie Fitzgerald's Open Mic night in Wollaston.

Signed copies of her publications and  art canvases will be available to purchase at the Kidderminster event which will take place on Saturday, February 22 starting at 7pm with tickets priced at £10.
