The exciting moment was celebrated at Newcross Care Home just next to the hospital as family, friends and care workers came together to surprise the now century-long supporter.
Growing up on Camp Street just across from the Molineux, Joan used to watch as supporters made their way to the ground every week and they used to pay her two pence to look after their bikes while they watched the game.
Celebrating today, Joan, her daughter Lynne and other members of her family were over the moon to see cake sliced, bottles popped and party hats donned as some of her favourite players presented her with her own jersey sporting her name and the number 100 on the back.
Speaking on the surprise, Joan said: "It is a special day, I never thought I would reach this age. I'm so surprised and pleased to see Steve Bull here with us today. I've always watched Steve play on the television, I used to always ask if he was playing.
"But my favourite player of all time was Billy Wright.
"If I could speak to the current team I would tell them to try a little harder because I want to see them at the top the table while I'm still here.
"The secret to getting to 100 years old is to look after yourself, that's what I've done."
In attendance along with Steve Bull was former ballers Steve Daley and Phil Parkes as well as the club mascot.
Steve said: "I'm so thankful for being here, milestones are one thing but 100 years is something else.
"She's a lovely lady and she gave me some tips on how to keep young - including the odd glass of Baileys.
"I hope she had a good time, I was speaking to her for about two minutes before she suddenly realised she was talking to me, she said 'Wait, you're Stevie Bull!'.
"Happy Birthday Joan, and thank you for letting me share this special moment with you."
But it wasn't just famous footballers who worked to create an unforgettable day for Joan, as staff at Newcross Care Home pulled out all the stops to celebrate one of their oldest residents.
It was then delivered as a ‘Magic Moment’ by Tipton & Coseley Building Society in conjunction with Wolves Wishes, which provides club-related special treats for supporters who arranged for Bully to go along with the card and presents of the flowers, shirt, as well as mugs and blankets for the other residents.
Joan's daughter, Lynne Vaughan, 75, has fond memories of her mum growing up, who she said was a 'proper mum' who she could wrap around her finger when she needed to along with her brother Robert, who sadly passed away in 2021.
Lynne said: "We lived on Twins Street, it was a nice part of Wolverhampton and a real close-knit part of the city, everyone knew each other.
"The celebration has been so lovely today, mum has really enjoyed herself."
