Nine-month-old Brian, a Belgian Malinois cross, has been living in kennels for more than half his life.

He was taken in by the RSPCA for treatment in August of 2024 when he was just four months old after reportedly falling from a window in Birmingham.

The pooch had suffered soft tissue injuries but after pain relief and rest, was back on all four paws.

He has been patiently waiting at the RSPCA's Birmingham Animal Centre ever since for his forever home.

Kelly Legg, kennel supervisor at the animal welfare charity, said: “Brian is growing fast and he has spent much of his young life in our care which is no place for a puppy.

“He’s such a sweet boy with lots of energy and so much love to give. He loves to run and play to burn off his energy, and then loves cuddles on the sofa.

“He has had a difficult start to life so we’re looking for experienced owners who are active and can keep up with him."

Kelly added that Brian would benefit from socialising with other dogs and further training.

She said: "He’s really smart and very busy so he’d love to have the opportunity in the future to take part in something that is physically and mentally stimulating, such as agility.

"In the right home, he’ll really thrive and he’ll be such great fun. We just hope there’s someone out there who will give him a chance - and keep him away from any more windows."

Brian is looking for a home with adults or with older children where he will be the only pet.

The pup will need owners who can initially commit to being home with him most of the time before learning how to be left in the house alone.

He is not yet been neutered and vets want to wait until he’s 18 months old when his new owners will need to bring him to the RSPCA's Birmingham Animal Hospital for the procedure.
