Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, operators of Walsall Manor Hospital, have apologised for the distress caused to patients, staff and visitors after mice were recorded by patients scurrying around the healthcare wards.
The apology comes after Walsall Manor Hospital patient Daniel Hendron, 32, from Blakenall, sent videos and images to the Express & Star showing mice running freely around the halls of the ward he was staying in.
Daniel was admitted to ward nine of the hospital with an infection in his leg, where he soon spotted the mice darting through his personal items - as well as over his shoes and under his bed.
Talking about the mice, Mr Hendron said: "It's disgusting. You don't expect to see this in a hospital in the centre of Walsall.
