Two teenagers in hospital following one-vehicle crash in Smethwick

Three teenagers have been injured after a car crashed into a wall on Sunday evening

Emergency services rushed to the scene of Booth Street and Anne Road, Smethwick, at 7.29pm to reports of a collision involving a car and a wall.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

On arrival, crews discovered three patients, all of whom required medical attention.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "On arrival, crews found three patients.

"The first of whom, a teenage boy, was treated for serious injuries and conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, under emergency driving conditions.

"A second teenage boy was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

"A third teenage boy, the driver, was assessed for injuries not thought to be serious. He was discharged at the scene with self-care advice."

West Midlands Police has been approached for further information.
