Muhammed Kamran and Sameer Ditta were both 19-years-old when they became "fascinated" with guns and began trying to buy them from America.

After first failing to convince an American gun dealer to send an AK40 rifle through the post the pair bought a Smith & Wesson revolver online in July last year.

They ordered the gun to be delivered to a Samir Khan at Lifestyle Express, Old Birchills, and when Ditta picked up the package said "it was for my auntie".

However, unbeknown to them, US law enforcement had already intercepted the package and replaced the gun with a recording device. The pair could be heard discussing their new purchase as they drove away from the shop.

Ditta said: "I told you the auntie line would work, didn't I?"

Moments after realising the box was empty armed police pounced on them and they were both arrested.
