Dudley law student rewarded for hard work with £1,000 scholarship

A student from Dudley has been recognised with an award for her outstanding academic performance.

Ella-Jay Crowley has received a £1,000 Academic Scholarship Award from the University of Worcester where she is her third and final year of an LLB Law degree.

The former student at Dudley Sixth Form College said she had enjoyed some “amazing opportunities” while studying at the University.

She said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Worcester so far.

“I’ve learned a variety of different modules which have allowed me to make a more informed choice about the career I want to go into and have felt supported by the staff whenever I’ve had any questions.

"I have also been introduced to some amazing opportunities which I wouldn’t have otherwise had such as gaining legal work experience, all whilst making some amazing friends along the way."

Ellie Malek from Sutton Coldfield, was awarded the Toby Hooper KC prize for best academic performance in Criminal Law.

She said:  “Being awarded this academic prize has made my hard work feel recognised and has driven me to work harder in the next year of my degree and throughout the pathway to my future career."

University of Worcester Provost, Ann Jordan, said: “We are very proud of all our students who earned an Academic Scholarship or prize this year. 

"These students achieved highly in their studies and their commitment and hard work is something to be recognised and celebrated. 

"We hope this award will inspire them to further academic success in their future studies
