December 20 marked the last day that Covid-19 vaccine appointments could be booked via the National Booking System, following guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
However, walk-in vaccines remain available at a host of community pop-up clinics in the Black Country until the end of January and marks the last opportunity for eligible people to receive a Covid-19 vaccination.
People are eligible for a vaccine if they are aged 65 or over, pregnant, aged six months to 64-years-old in clinical risk groups, live in a care home for older adults, or are a frontline health and social care worker.
Walk-in Covid-19 vaccines are available at locations across the Black Country over the next two weeks:
In Wolverhampton, vaccines will be available at Sainsbury's at Bentley Bridge on January 23 from 11am to 6pm, in Wolverhampton city centre from 9am to 3pm on January 24 and at Sainsbury's on Raglan Street from 9am to 3pm.
In Dudley, there will be vaccines available in two sessions at Dudley Market Place on January 17 and 31, both from 9am to 2pm, and at Asda on Pearson Street in Brierley Hill from January 27 from 10am to 4pm.
In Walsall, vaccines will be available at Tesco on Silver Street in Brownhills on January 21 from 9am to 3pm and at Willenhall Market on January 29 from 9am to 3pm.
Finally, in Sandwell, there will be vaccines available at Asda on Wednesbury Oak Road in Tipton on January 20 from 9am to 3pm, at Wednesbury Town Hall on January 22 from 9am to 3pm and at Tesco on Fox Oak Street in Cradley Heath on January 28 from 9am to 3pm.
Sally Roberts, Chief Nursing Officer for the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB), said: “The Covid-19 vaccination programme started in October and since then more than 134,000 people in the Black Country have come forward for a vaccine to get protected.
“Now, with just two weeks left before the COVID-19 vaccination offer closes, we want to encourage everyone who is eligible and yet to receive a vaccine, to come forward before it’s too late.
“Covid-19 hasn’t gone away but your protection from previous vaccinations wanes over time, so it’s still important to get your jab if you are eligible.
"So, please visit our pop-up clinics over the next few weeks before it’s too late.”
Flu vaccinations are also available at the pop-up clinics for those eligible and will remain available until the end of March.
More information about the pop-up clinics can be found on the NHS Black Country ICB website.
