The 10 pups, including six girls and four boys, started to make their arrival into the world on 8.15pm on January 2.

The pooches, who are yet to be named, were born to second-time mum Rebecca, a Golden Retriever, and first-time dad Danny, a Labrador.

Guide Dogs charity volunteer, Sue Davy, looks after Rebecca and the pups, who are enjoying spending time with their mum and snoozing.

She said: "Rebecca is a fantastic mum. She absolutely dotes upon her puppies and has taken everything in her stride.

“I’m really excited to see these puppies grow and develop their individual personalities over the next few weeks. It has been the most wonderful start to the new year.”

Parents Rebecca and Danny were handpicked to join the Guide Dogs breeding programme as they were considered 'top dogs' for their intelligence, calmness, confidence and health.

Next month, their puppies will make their way to the charity's National Centre outside Leamington Spa, where they will receives vaccinations, microchips and health checks – and plenty of cuddles.

"This would never be possible without the support of breeding dog volunteers like Sue, who give loving homes to our guide dog mums year-round, and then devote a huge amount of time and energy when a new litter is born.
