The special Community Kitchen event will be held on January 20 from 10.30am until supplies last in Somers Square in the town centre.

It is being held on the third Monday of the month, which is sometimes described as the most depressing day of the year.

The event is being held in aid of an homeless shelter.

Donors including Halesowen College and Halesowen Football Club are inviting everyone to attend to share in the heart-warming and to support St Anne’s Hostel in Birmingham at the same time.

Businesses are joining forces to donate food, money, equipment and time for the cause.

There is no cost for residents and shoppers to enjoy the food, however, donations are encouraged with all proceeds going to support St. Anne’s in Moseley Street, in Highgate, in Birmingham.

Stacey Rogers, head of events and enterprise at Halesowen College, in Whittingham Road, says: “This event is all about raising spirits, promoting well-being and supporting those in need. It’s wonderful to see businesses, local groups and individuals coming together to make a real difference.”

Other donors include The Fruit Deli, and Asda, both in Cornbow Shopping Centre; Promarco Promotions Ltd, of Stourbridge;  Halesowen Business Improvement District,  The Old Halesonian Lodge Number 7104 and  Don Guest & Son Butchers, in Stourbridge Road.
