Temperatures are set to rise to double figures on Monday as the country’s bitter cold snap comes to an end – but the thaw could lead to some flooding.

This morning, the region woke-up frost free for the first time in days, with the spectacular sunrise heralding the arrival of milder weather days to come.
Figures from the Met Office for Wolverhampton show temperatures reaching as high as nine degrees this week, pushing above average for the time of year.
The West Midlands can expect some sunny spells early this week.
Today, there will be some patchy fog at first but that will clear to leave a mostly dry day. There will be some sunshine in the morning but it is expected to get cloudier later in the day in the Black Country region.
Although it will be less chilly, it will be rather windy for a time before it eases later on with a maximum temperature of six degrees.
Tuesday looks set to be a mostly dry but largely cloudy day with a couple of brighter breaks. Temperatures will be near average, though it will be a little breezy. Maximum temperature will be nine degrees.
From Wednesday to Friday it will be generally dry and a little cloudy but with some bright spells. It is expected to get a bit colder on the back end of the week with temperatures near average for this time of year, some patchy frost and fog forming overnight.
