The A41 has been partially blocked with queueing traffic due to a collision between a car and a motorbike - the second incident on Bilston Road within days.

AA traffic news shows dark red lines down the main Wolverhampton road meaning traffic is slow.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 3.45pm.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance but were stood down as they were no longer needed.

A spokesperson for WMAS said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike on Bilston Road at 3.43pm, one ambulance attended the scene. However, on arrival, we were stood down as no longer required."

The incident is said to have happened near the tram lines and is affecting Metro services through the city as a result.

Metro tickets are being accepted on the number 79 bus, and ticket acceptance is also in place with West Midlands Railway between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

West Midlands Metro said in a post on X this afternoon: "Due to an RTC on Bilston Road trams are unable to operate between Priestfield & Wolverhampton

"Trams are running between Priestfield & Edgbaston Village only."

It comes days after similar disruption was caused by a collision on the same road near Burger King. An incident was reported to the AA at around 4.20pm on January 8.
