Trial of Wolverhampton West Park murder accused set to start
The trial of a man accused of the murder of a woman who was fatally injured in a Wolverhampton street is due to start today (Wednesday).

Rahul Sharma, of Hordern Road, Wolverhampton, is charged with the rape and murder of Helen Kempster, who was found with fatal injuries in Kingsland Road, West Park shortly before 4am on June 16, 2022. She died in New Cross Hospital a short time later.
Judge Michael Chambers swore the jury in at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday and gave them their opening directions and said the trial would start on Wednesday morning (January, 8).
