Leighswood School had been scheduled to open on Monday, but was left unable to open until Thursday (January 9) due to a blocked drain, with reports of sewage on the playground.
Engineers from Severn Trent were called to the scene and worked to check the pipe network underneath the school, with broken bricks found to have fallen into the pipework and caused the blockage.
The service confirmed that the engineers had carried out a full clean up of the area and after surveying the network with a camera, were able to declare the pipes were clear and blockage free and apologised for any disruption caused by the incident.
A spokeswoman for Severn Trent said: "We know just how distressing experiencing flooding can be, and we're really sorry for the impact this had on the school.
"The school is now back open after our teams attended to reports of flooding, and cleared a blockage from the network that was found to be caused by bricks in the pipework.
"We also carried out a full clean up of the area and camera surveyed the network to confirm the pipes are clear, and blockage free with no further issues.
"We’re sorry again for the disruption that’s been caused and want to thank the school for their understanding.”
