Residents of a seven storey apartment block on Wave Close, Walsall, have talked about the experiences of living in their homes that have been without water for more than a week.
The water to the flats was cut off when a power outage surged several components of the flat's industrial water pumps, leading to residents having no flowing water to their properties.
Those living in the flats were left filling bottles and buckets from two water bowsers, which were supplied by Green Square Accord with the support of Severn Trent Water, and ten outdoor portable toilets, which residents recently said were 'freezing'.
Now, one resident, Sarah, who has been living at the address with her husband for more than four years has opened up about the experiences of those living in the flats. Her comments come as the landlords have assured the Express & Star that the issues are being fixed this week.
"It's just miserable in there. It was a horrible way to spend the New Year," Sarah said. "We are having to boil water to tip on our heads for a shower - we have to boil water before we can drink it. It's miserable."
Residents have said that they visit the water bowsers at least four times a day, braving the freezing temperatures just to have water to drink.
Sarah said: "I come down here at least four to five times a day. At night I have to bring my husband because it just feels unsafe.
"I know there is a woman on the top floor who is disabled who has to bring her young children down with her, that's a horrible thing to have to go through."
As well as two water bowsers, residents were given ten portable toilets, which sit next to the building's front doors, which Sarah says 'no one uses'.
