Diversions set to be put in place as Wolverhampton road closes for gas works

A city road is set to be closed off at one end as essential roadworks take place.

The works by Cadent have begun on Newbridge Crescent in Wolverhampton at the junction with Tettenhall Road.

It means that a temporary road closure will be in place until January 13, with a diversion set in place via Tettenhall Road.

A spokesman for Cadent said: "Cadent are carrying out Emergency gas repair works.

"These repairs can take time to resolve, but this is to ensure that we continue to provide the safest and most reliable service to our customers."

A spokesman for West Midlands Roads said: "A road closure is in place at Newbridge Crescent at its junction with Tettenhall Road.

"Cadent is carrying out essential roadworks in the area.

"Temporary road closure until January 13 and a vehicular diversion route is in place via Tettenhall Road."
