National Express West Midlands alerted of the diversions at around 7.37am this morning, with the Service 70 being affected in both directions.

The service will now instead be diverted via Fryers Road and Willenhall Lane.

The incident appears to have been caused by a burst water main.

The group announced on X: "Due to flooding on Leamore Lane, Bloxwich, Service 70 is diverting in both directions via: Fryers Road and Willenhall Lane Apologies for any disruption to your journey."

The disruption appears to have been caused by a blocked drain, according to South Staffs Water.

Residential addresses in the area have also been subjected to flooding due to the bad weather, with one road in Willenhall requiring a callout by Severn Trent Water teams.

Responding to the flood on Redpine Crescent, Severn Trent Water apologised for any inconvenience caused, saying that teams are on location to repair the burst water main.

A Severn Trent Water spokesperson said: "We'd like to apologise to customers in the WV12 area of Wolverhampton who have experienced lower than normal pressure or interruptions to their water supply this morning, which was due to a burst water main.

Our engineers are on-site and we are moving water around the network to minimise any customer impact.

"As soon as traffic management has arrived on the site, our team will be able to dig down and make the repair. We know that roadworks can be inconvenient and would like to thank everyone for their patience while we get this repair made."
