Toy and collectables aficionados, Linda and Geoff Price, returned again this year with the Walsall Wood Toy and Train Collectors Fair which - has been running for 34 years.

Despite the negative weather conditions, the fair this year, which was held again at the Oak Park Living Centre in Walsall, was jollier than ever as more than 350 people braved the cold snowy weather to buy and sell some pre-loved and as-new collectable pieces.

The event this year marks the 34th time the event has been held, with Linda saying she was concerned about the turnout 'due to the bad weather' but was instead 'pleasantly surprised' at the number of people who turned up.

Linda Price, organiser of the event along with her husband Geoff, said: "We were quite worried for the turnout this year. We did have a number of traders who backed out because of the snow and rain.

"But it was great, a good portion of our loyal traders still came and it meant that they could have more space for their collections, and we still had plenty of visitors to buy and sell their items."

The event this year welcomes more than 350 toy and collectable fans of all niches, which despite last year's attendance of more than 600, Linda said was a 'great turnout considering'.

Linda said: "I believe this year we had around 350 people come down, which obviously considering the horrible weather, is a really good turnout.

"One of the sales that stood out was actually this young man who had visited from China, he bought a few trains and what not to take back and add to his collection, it was so lovely."

The event started in July 1991 and has been bringing toy collectors together to celebrate their joint passion.
