Cyclist with 'serious injuries' taken to hospital amid 'police incident' near Sutton Coldfield
A cyclist has been taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' following a traffic collision involving a car and a bike.

The eastbound A38 Kingsbury Road near Sutton Coldfield had been closed earlier today, January 2, by police following a road traffic collision between Forge Lane and the Minworth Island.
On X, road watchdog West Midlands Roads, said: "A38 Kingsbury eastbound. Road is closed due to a police incident from Forge Lane to Walmley Ash Road.
"Heavy traffic on this route, allow extra time for travel."
West Midlands Ambulance Service were called at 5.52am to the collision involving a car and a bike.
Two ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Critical Care Car attended the scene, and, upon arrival they found a man - who was the cyclist - who was assessed and had sustained serious injuries.
The man received trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 5.52am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a bike on Kingsbury Road in Minworth, Sutton Coldfield.
"Two ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Critical Care Car attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man who was the cyclist who was assessed and had sustained serious injuries. He received trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment."
The incident comes as many return to work following the Christmas and new year holidays.
