Man charged following police pursuit which started on M6 near Stafford

A man is set to face court after being arrested and charged with driving offences following a pursuit which started on the M6 near Stafford.

Lewis Moore was arrested following the pursuit, which happened on Monday morning and saw a blue Ford Fiesta ST followed by road crime team officers up to near junction 16 for Crewe and Nantwich.

The 34-year-old, of Ringway in Neston in Cheshire, was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by a constable, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

He was released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Newcastle Under Lyme Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 24.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "A man has been charged with driving offences following a vehicle pursuit that started on the M6 motorway, near Stafford.

"Lewis Moore, 34, from Ringway in Neston in Cheshire, has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by a constable, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

"It comes after a blue Ford Fiesta ST was followed by officers from our road crime team (RCT), up to near junction 16, yesterday morning (Monday 30 December).

"Moore has been released on conditional bail to appear at Newcastle Under Lyme Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 24."
