Appeal after Staffordshire village hall burgled during football match

An appeal for information has been launched after a number of personal items were stolen from a village hall in Shenstone during a football match.

The incident took place on September 21 near the village hall on Barnes Road and saw personal items, which included a number of mobile phones and bank cards belonging to both teams, stolen from the changing rooms.

Staffordshire Police have said that a man was seen entering the hall and have released an image of the man from CCTV footage to ask for anyone who recognises the man or has any information to get in touch as soon as possible.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information after a large number of personal items were stolen from a village hall during a football match in the Lichfield area recently.

"Two teams were playing football at the pitch near Shenstone Village Hall on Barnes Road at 3pm on September 21 when a man entered the hall and ransacked both changing rooms.

"Personal items, including a number of mobile phones and bank cards belonging to a total of 22 players across both teams, were stolen.

"We have reviewed CCTV footage of the area at the time of the theft and would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured to get in touch.

"Anyone with any information should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 442 of 21 September.
