Mark Lucas from Shropshire was driving a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck on Watling Street, Weeford, near Lichfield, at around 4.50pm on Thursday, December 19 when he was involved in a collision with a blue Valtra tractor and a yellow articulated Volvo lorry.

The 64-year-old died from his injuries at the scene.

In a tribute to Mark, his family described him as a "beloved husband, devoted father and besotted grandpa", who was "dedicated to his family and friends".

They continued: "He was a true outdoorsman, he had a thirst for adventure and was never happier than with his family on his boat, exploring in his Land Rover or out shooting in the fields.

"Always the first to help others, Mark will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and endless optimism that was infectious to all that knew him.

"The void that he leaves behind in our lives is too vast to put into words and too deep to ever be filled.

"We will always miss him."

Staffordshire Police said specially trained officers are continuing to support Mark's family.

The drivers of the lorry and tractor did not sustain any injuries and stayed at the scene following the collision.

Police said they are keen to hear from anyone with information. A spokesperson said: "We are still keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time, particularly those who might have seen the vehicles before the collision and those with dashcam footage that could help investigators.
