Appeal for witnesses following assault in Walsall

West Midlands Police have appealed for information following an attempted robbery in Walsall

Officers are asking for help from anyone with information involving an attempted robbery in Stroud Avenue, Willenhall, where a man was also assaulted. 

The incident took place at around 8.30pm on Friday, December 13, and saw a man approached by another man before being attacked. 

The victim was left with facial and abdomen injuries, however, his attacker fled empty-handed. 

The offender was described as 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and wearing a black puffa jacket and back tracksuit bottoms. 

Although part of the attacker's face was concealed, he is believed to be mixed-race or Asian. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We're appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted during an attempted robbery in Walsall.

"The victim was approached in Stroud Avenue, Willenhall, at around 8.30pm on Friday 13 December. He sustained facial and abdomen injuries as his attacker fled empty-handed."
