Dudley Zoo and Castle will be welcoming in guests all across the Twixmas and New Year period and offering a different way to get some post-Christmas exercise.

The zoo closed on Christmas Day to give staff and, most importantly, the animals, a day of rest and relaxation after a busy year.

Now, with the end of the year approaching, the staff have been out getting the zoo ready to welcome festive visitors.

They've been washing the pens, giving extra feed to the penguins and orangutans and giving all the animals presents to play with, while also keeping the zoo clean and tidy ahead of the doors opening.

The zoo also has a treat for visitors over the festive season by offering up to two children free admission with every full-paying adult visiting the 40-acre attraction between Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve.

To qualify for the discounted entry, tickets must be pre-booked on the zoo’s website.

There’s also the chance to win a 12-month adoption package for one of the zoo’s reindeer herd by taking part in a winter quest around the site, by discovering more about the animal species at the zoo who love the cold weather.

Entry forms can be picked up at the entrance.
