Commercial director Richard Gill said the shop will be the airport's "biggest retail development change" of 2025.

The airport is investing more then £9 million, along with travel retail partner Avolta, into the walk-through duty free store.

Mr Gill said: "There will be a new entrance being created to the new duty free store, and as part of that we open up a lot of the natural day light on that side of the departure lounge."

In December, Birmingham Airport opened up Shelby & Co, a Peaky Blinders themed bar and restaurant, in its main departure lounge.

And Mr Gill said it will be looking at other new food and beverage offerings in 2025.

He told the Express & Star: "We are hoping to announce within a matter of weeks another UK travel first on a food and beverage brand - a really exciting category that is not in the airport at the moment.

"We only just welcomed Chaiiwala, which is a good Halal local operator, to our retail offer in the departure lounge.
