Officers discovered the drug farm after stopping a car on Holloway Circus in Birmingham city centre on the evening of December 20.

They searched the vehicle and seized around £13,000 of cash from inside.

The driver, aged 24, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

Phones were also recovered from the car and police used data from the devices to lead them to an address in Wednesbury.

A short time later, officers raided the property to discover two rooms containing around 150 cannabis plants.

The plants, and the equipment used to grow them, were recovered and will be destroyed, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said.

Two men, aged 28 and 30, who were inside the property were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

The force spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing and all three men have been released on police bail with conditions while those enquiries continue."
