Zoo keepers at the attraction took on the role of Father Christmas and have been hiding tasty treats in wrapped presents for the animals.

Other gifts have been sprayed with new scents for occupants at the zoo of all shapes, sizes and species to enjoy.

Among those who made the 'nice list' this year at the zoo was a giant anteater and a pygmy marmoset monkey.

Richard Brown, curator at Dudley Zoo and Castle, said: “Staff regularly come up with lots of different enrichment throughout the year for the animals, which stimulates and encourages natural behaviour, whether it’s something different to smell or taste, or even how their daily diet is presented.”
