Appeal continues after boy airlifted to hospital following stabbing near Wolverhampton park

Police are yet to arrest a suspect after a teenager was stabbed in Wolverhampton.

The 17-year-old boy was found with a stab wound at West Park on December 19, with police called to the scene just after 1pm.

After carrying out enquiries, officers believe the stabbing happened near to the park at the junction of Park Road East and Devon Road.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene at about 1.06pm where they treated the boy for serious injuries before he was airlifted to hospital.

On Monday (December 23) morning, a West Midlands Police spokeswoman confirmed no arrests had been made in connection to the incident and enquiries were ongoing.

Witness appeal

In a statement issued the day after the stabbing, the force urged witnesses to come forward.

Det Insp Gurprit Bains, from Wolverhampton Central Investigation Department, said: “This incident happened at a busy junction and we are urging people who have may have seen what happened to come forward.

“We’d ask anyone who has any information, or any passing motorists who may have dash cam footage, to please contact us.”
