Most of the West Midlands has escaped the Met Office weather warning - apart from Shropshire - but high winds are still sweeping the region.

The situation has prompted the National Trust to close several properties, including Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses, Wightwick Manor  and Gardens in Wolverhampton and Attingham Park in Shrewsbury.

A spokesman for Attingham Park said: “Due to predicted high winds, the Mile Walk and Deer Park will be closed all day on Sunday and into Monday morning.

“This means it will not be possible to access the Deer Park, Mile Walk, Walled Garden, Orchard, and the Field of Play.

“The Mansion, Paddock, Carriage House Cafe, shop, second hand bookshop, and visitor reception will be open as normal.

“When the winds subside our ranger team will be able to carry out post-storm inspections and will reopen areas as soon as it is safe to do so. This will be announced via our social media and on our webpage.”
