The Red Lion, in Walsall, opened its doors to customers this week with a fresh new look after staff tirelessly decorated the beer den last weekend, Sunday, December 15, in an effort to raise money for Bless 2 Bless Community Project - which aims to help feed the homeless and those struggling financially, providing a free lunch every Saturday.

The pub's owner, Matthew Harper, said he does the special event every year and puts on a new theme, with this year's being Santa's Grotto, which will be placed upstairs and includes Breakfast with Santa this Sunday, December 22.

Matthew, said: "We like Christmas quite a lot here and spend a lot of time on our decorations, this year we're working with the Bless 2 Bless Community project, raising money for the local food bank.

"We spent a whole day getting the pub ready, it's a family event and we have all the staff come in so we can get it ready for the week leading up to the big day.

"We've had some really good comments, everyone is really pleased and we get a lot of people coming in to have a look around and have a drink.
