Big-hearted restaurant owner Matt Lemm who promised to deliver free Christmas dinners to elderly in need has been deluged by rich pensioners asking for free food.

Matt Lemm, who owns Stourbridge Lockside Steakhouse and the Lockside cafe in Walsall, asked for people to nominate worthy recipients of a festive freebie.

However, shocked Matt had to tell people to stop "trying to blag" a dinner as worthy recipients will miss out.

He said: "We have had people who claim they are in need but when we look at their social media profile there are pictures of them on holiday in Majorca for two weeks in the summer.

"One fella was on a speedboat in Dubai two months ago - and I know things can go wrong for people but I can't see how you can go from living the high life in Dubai in October to relying on me for some free sprouts on Christmas Day."
