The A41 Holyhead Road both ways was marked as "impassable" by the travel group INRIX, due to flooding from the Codsall turn-off to Yew Tree Lane, Wolverhampton. The A41 links Telford to the city.

The road has since reopened, however, some water  remains  on the carriageway.

Residents from the area took to social media on Friday morning to alert others of the potential disruptions, with some calling the traffic 'horrific'.

Facebook user Karen Whittingham said: "Yes absolutely disgusting.

"Traffic is horrific on Jenny Walkers Way and Codsall."

Bertie Booth said the traffic leading to and from the flood is "horrendous."

He said: "I came that way at dusk today and the traffic was horrendous.

"Say a police accident notice."

In an update, INRIX marked the flooding as 'clear' saying "This incident has since been resolved."
