With just a few weeks to go until Christmas day, people will be making plans for the big day, from when lunch will take place to where to watch the King's Christmas message.
For a lot of people as well, they will look at going out for a festive pint, maybe as a way of breaking the time between opening presents and lunch or just as a tradition they've kept with friends and family over the years.
While December 25 is a bank holiday, there are still plenty of pubs across the Black Country and Staffordshire which will be opening their doors for a few hours to welcome in festive drinkers, so we've put together a list of some of the best pubs to visit for that Christmas pint:
Wolverhampton
The Starting Gate, 134 Birches Barn Road, Wolverhampton, WV3 7BG
The owners of the popular micro-pub will be opening the doors of the converted bank in Bradmore from 10am to 1pm on Christmas Day.
Boasting a rolling stock of beers, as well as an extensive spirits selection and ABK Hells Lager on tap, the pub has something for everyone, while the pub itself is a warm and welcoming place.
The Mount Tavern, 245 Penn Road, Wolverhampton, WV4 5SF
Sitting just off the Penn Road in the affluent area of Penn, the Mount Tavern will be opening its doors for a full day of festive drinks.
Featuring a full range of premium lagers, ciders and a good selection of handpull ales, the Mount Tavern will have something for everyone between 11am and 11pm on Christmas Day, although the food menu will not be available for that day.
The Wheatsheaf, Market Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 3AE
For people living in and around Wolverhampton city centre, there will be a number of pubs opening their doors to welcome people in for a drink, a chat, to provide somewhere warm to sit and a chance to have a chat.
Popular with Wolves fans and community minded, the Wheatsheaf is one of the best pubs for people looking for a festive pint, with a range of handpulls on tap, as well as premium ciders and lagers and an extensive spirits selection.
It will be open from 11am to 3pm on Christmas Day.
The Royal Oak, Chapel Ash, 70 Compton Road, Wolverhampton, WV3 9PH
It's a pub which is community focussed in everything it does and provides a comfortable and warming space to enjoy a pint throughout the year.
The pub in Chapel Ash will be briefly opening up to welcome in festive drinkers from across the area, opening from 12pm to 2pm on Christmas Day and while the time open will be short, the pub will be busy.
The Chestnut Tree, 2 Castlecroft Road, Finchfield, WV3 8BT
While a lot of pubs are offering just drinks as part of their festive offerings, there are still pubs where you can book in to get a meal as well, with the Sizzling Pubs company offering a festive menu on Christmas Day.
The Chestnut Tree in Finchfield will be one of those pubs offering people a place to eat and drink on Christmas Day, with a wide selection of ales, lagers and ciders on offer, as well as a special food menu featuring turkey and all the trimmings.
Dudley
The Fountain, 8 Temple Street, Lower Gornal, DY3 2PE
This old-fashioned and comfortable pub offers several guest beers and home made food and has been a popular place for people looking for a decent pint of ale on the handpulls.
The pub on Temple Street will be opening from 11am to 3pm on Christmas Day and will have favourites from Hobson's, Wye Valley and its own micro-brewery in Essington available for people to drink.
The Courthouse, 30 New Street, Dudley, DY1 1LP
Set right in the heart of Dudley town centre, the Courthouse has a large number of areas for people to sit and enjoy a pint, with warming fires and filling cobs also available.
Run by Black Country Ales, the pub will be open from 12pm to 3pm on Christmas Day.
The Chapel House, 28 Ruiton Street, Lower Gornal, DY3 2EG
The Chapel House is a traditional pub which provides an intimate feeling inside and has wood fires providing the warmth and a range of beers from owners Holden's Brewery providing the refreshment.
The pub will open up on Christmas Day for a few hours from 11am to 1pm for festive drinks, providing a place for those wanting a warm welcome.
Roberto's Bar, 55 High Street, Halesowen, B63 3BG
For people looking for a specialised beer and unique atmosphere on Christmas Day, Roberto's Bar in Halesowen will be the place to go.
The bar will be open from 11am to 1pm, allowing visitors to indulge in a unique selection of beers from all over the world, all delivered by the owner and self-professed "beer snob" Roberto Ross.
Green Duck Taproom, Gainsborough Trading Estate, Rufford Road, Stourbridge, DY9 7ND
One place which offers beer right from the source is the Green Duck Brewery, with its taproom offering up the fine wares brewed at the Stourbridge brewery.
Opening on Christmas Day from 12pm to 2pm, the taproom has the Green Duck range of beers, including the popular Blonde, as well as a warm welcome and plenty of places to sit.
Sandwell and Walsall
The White Swan, 5 Church Street, Town Centre, Oldbury, B69 3AD
Set in the heart of Oldbury, the White Swan is a modern pub with a large range of hand pull ales and premium lagers.
It will be open on Christmas Day for anyone who is in Oldbury town centre and wants a warm place and a cold pint.
The Gospel Oak, 1 Bilston Road, Tipton, DY4 0BT
The Marstons-owned pub will be open throughout Christmas Day to welcome in guests in Tipton and the surrounding area.
As well as the main range of ales and beers on offer, the pub is also doing a full Christmas menu with turkey and all the trimmings.
The Pretty Bricks, 5 John Street, Walsall, Walsall, WS2 8AF
The original Black Country pub and a popular local boozer will be opening its doors on Christmas Day to welcome in locals and people in the community.
Open from 11am to 2pm, the pub will have on its regular selection of beers from Black Country Ales, as well as a warm fire and cobs on the bar.
Ye Olde Leathern Bottel, 40 Vicarage Road, Wednesbury WS10 9DW
One of the oldest and most historic pubs in the Black Country will be open on Christmas Day to welcome in those wanting a traditional festive pint.
The pub, which dates back to the early 1500s, will be open from 11.30am to 2pm, allowing people to sit by the fire and warm themselves up on Christmas Day.
The Shire Oak, 261 Lichfield Road, Sandhills, Walsall Wood, Walsall WS9 9PB
The Shire Oak will be putting on a festive day for its local community, offering a range of fine beers and lagers and food.
Open at 11am, the pub will be open for drinks and while the restaurant is already fully booked, bar snacks will be available for those having a festive pint.
