It was the 18th consecutive year the club has visited the children and their families who are either in hospital or visiting over Christmas.

Club directors Gavin Whitehouse and Stephen Austin were joined by first team physio Gavin Blackwell, coach Ryan McDonagh and players Bekir Halil and Connor Armstrong who were armed with presents for all patients, family members and staff.

Mr Austin said: "‘ We are proud of our annual tradition which is now in its 18th consecutive year, and it is so worthwhile in helping to bring smiles and happiness, if only for a short period of time, to the poorly children and their families."
