Officers restore some festive cheer to Wolverhampton pensioner after gifts stolen
The spirit of Christmas was shown by generous police officers after they helped a pensioner who had woken up to find her gifts had been stolen.

The officers from West Midlands Police had been called to the Bilston home of the 79-year-old woman, who had reported that the presents she'd wrapped for friends and family had been taken during an overnight burglary.
The Wolverhampton Partnerships Team subsequently organised a whip around to replace some of the lost gifts and delivered a parcel of chocolates, biscuits and other gifts, as well as a number of crime prevention tools for her home.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Local officers in Wolverhampton have worked to restore some festive cheer after a pensioner woke to find her gifts had been stolen during a burglary overnight.
"The 79-year-old called police this morning after discovering a break in at her Bilston home, with all of the presents she’d wrapped for friends and family taken by the heartless thieves.
"News of the crime was picked up by the city’s Partnerships Team this morning, who quickly arranged a whip around in the office to help replace some of the lost gifts.
"A parcel of chocolates, biscuits and other gifts were delivered this afternoon, along with a selection of crime prevention tools to help secure her property and ensure she feels safe despite, what happened.
"The burglary is currently being investigated and local officers are conducting enquiries in the area.
