Man arrested after being found inside secure vehicle compound in Wolverhampton

The 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of interfering with a motor vehicle after being found inside the compound on Ablow Street on Monday night by officers from West Midlands Police.

The man was taken into custody, where he currently remains.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man is in police custody this morning after he was seen inside a secure vehicle compound in Wolverhampton overnight. 

"Officers were called to the yard on Ablow Street shortly after 11pm and arrested the 48-year-old on suspicion of interfering with a motor vehicle.  

"He was brought into police custody where he remains this morning. 

"At this time of year we often see an increase in neighbourhood vehicle crime and theft and our officers are working to prevent crime while tackling those involved in criminal activity.
