The two boys, who cannot be named due to their age, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court previously pleaded not guilty to murder in October.
Jahziah was stabbed to death on August 29 in Oldbury and the public gallery was full for the hearing which was being held to finalise dates before the trial.
However, the video link for one of the boys kept on cutting out and Judge Michael Chambers KC ordered the boys be produced in court tomorrow (Tuesday).
The boys are standing trial alongside a man in who is in his 40s, who also cannot be named, pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender.
Judge Michael Chambers KC said: "The defendants will need to be produced in court for the next hearing. I am sorry this hearing did not have a successful conclusion."
The trial will be held in the Spring and could last four weeks due to court sessions being shorter when children are in the dock.
The man will remain remanded in prison, while the youths will remain remanded to secure youth detention accommodation.
