Wolverhampton singer unveils debut children's book after major health scare

A classically trained Wolverhampton singer from has published her first children’s book after overcoming illness.

Vie Strachan-Watson, who also works part-time as a school teacher, put pen to paper after spending a stint in hospital due to being very unwell. 

The 55-year-old had been sitting on the story for 16 years - but her stay in hospital was the wake up call she needed to finally get it written. 

The nativity-themed book titled 'I Just want to be Mary!' tells the story of the central character four-year-old Caitlin who is obsessed with being cast as Jesus' mother Mary in the upcoming school nativity play. 

The melodic story is inspired by her now grown-up daughter Lauren Caitlin, who is now a university student. The classically-trained singer, who was born and attended schools in London, raised her daughter in Wolverhampton.
