Tributes to former long-serving Express & Star manager who was 'huge character'

Pat Wedge was a longstanding personnel manager at the newspaper operator Midland News Association which was previously based in Queen Street in Wolverhampton and retired in 2008 after giving more than 40 years service to the company.

Mrs Wedge who lived in Newtown near Walsall  passed away in hospital on December 3 following a period of ill-health.

He husband Roger, a retired sales engineer, said: "Pat was a wonderful wife. We were married for 50 years and lived in the same house all that time. 

"We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary with a trip to the hotel in Cornwall where we spent our honeymoon all those years ago.

"She was always well turned out and would advise me on what to wear to events.
