Police searching for four boys after 16-year-old suffers broken jaw in assault near Cannock eatery

Police are appealing for the public's help after a teenager suffered a broken jaw in an attack in Cannock.

The assault took place at around 7.40pm on November 26 (Tuesday) on Stafford Road, near the Podge & Tin eatery.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to hospital by family members and is now said to be recovering at home.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, but he has since been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.

Four other boys are believed to have been involved and officers would like to speak to them.

Staffordshire Police is appealing for any information or witnesses.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a group of young men in Cannock town centre prior to the assault or anyone who has relevant dashcam footage. Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 618 of November 26."
