Darren John Dunning - often called ‘Daz’ by those who knew him best - was riding a Lambretta scooter when he came into collision with a white BMW shortly before 2pm on Sunday, December 1, on the B5013 at Admaston. He died at the scene.

The driver of the BMW stayed at the scene and has been helping collision investigators with enquiries.

In a tribute to him, Darren’s family said: “It is with deep regret that on December 1, our amazing, unique, larger-than-life character Daz gained his angel wings far too soon.

“He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, four children, granddaughter, sister, his amazing family and his many friends.”

Specially-trained officers are continuing to support his family.

Staffordshire Police officers are still keen to speak to anyone with any information or relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time of the collision.

Call 101, quoting incident 297 of December 1, or email the serious collision investigation unit directly via ciu@staffordshire.police.uk.
