The Environment Agency has announced two flood alerts for the city, with another alert being removed in the last 24 hours - meaning it ceases to be a threat.
One of the flood alerts concerns the River Sow and River Penk.
It is expected that overflowing water from the River Sow will affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river between Great Bridgeford and Shugborough in Staffordshire.
The River Penk is at risk of flooding low-lying lands between Coven, near the Wolverhampton border, Stafford, the Sandyford Brook, the Rising Brook, the Ridings Brook and the Saredon Brook.
The Enviroment Agency states: "We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
Although heavy rainfall is not forecast in the area, the River Worfe remains at high water levels but is gradually getting lower following heavy rainfall over the weekend. It affects the River Wharfe, Wesley Brook and Albrighton Brook, and their tributaries.
Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected today.
Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the River from Crackley Bank to Bridgnorth. Other locations that may be affected are Ryton and Burcote.
