Emergency services were called to High Street, Tipton, at just before 4.55pm on Friday, where a boy was found with serious injuries after being hit by a bus, and nothing could be done to save him.

The heart-breaking news comes only weeks before Christmas, and one local, who is the father of a four-year-old girl said hearing the news took him a moment to process before making it clear that as soon as the family is ready to come outside, Tipton is waiting for them and 'will do what it can' to help.

Another local, who works in the local sports bar said she knew 'something was wrong' when her usually bubbly customers seemed 'really sad' last night, when the incident happened.

One thing every local agreed on, was that the community's arms are wide open for when the family are ready to talk.

Local florist, Julie Jones, 48, said her husband told her about the incident on Friday night and was 'shocked' to hear the news.

She said: "It's hard to find the words today, it has been a shock to the area.
