The rubbish was left in Enson Lane near Marston - a village to the north of Stafford - last week. The waste included white chairs, carpet and plasterboard, and it is believed to have come from a property in Stafford.

Now residents are being asked to help find those responsible for the fly tipping which was reported on December 2.

Councillor Ian Fordham, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Fly tipping, littering and other environmental crimes are a blight on our communities. They can cause environmental damage, they attract anti-social behaviour, make areas look untidy, and have an adverse impact on the quality of life for our community. And most of our residents are disgusted when people fly tip in their area.

“I hope someone will have information on where this has come from or who dumped it near the village of Marston - so please contact the council in confidence at grimewatch@staffordbc.gov.uk or 01785 619000.”

It comes days after Wolverhampton Council announced an incentive to any member of the public who could help identify two culprits who dumped their waste on a road in the city.

The local authority is offering a gift card to anyone who can help them track down the two men, who were filmed arriving in Racecourse Road in the Dunstall area of the city in a dark-coloured car on October 30 at about 6.35pm.

Their vehicle is filmed pulling over, parking half on the pavement, before the men come out and open the boot before removing at least three black bin bags and dumping them in a hedge.

The men were both dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans.

Posting on social media network 'X' Wolverhampton Council stated: "Help us identify these fly tippers & you could get a £100 gift card. Oct 30, 6.35pm, Racecourse Road.

"Contact 01902 552700 or report online at https://orlo.uk/zvxcq If info leads to identification & further action is taken."
