The Express & Star set up the petition, titled Save our Banks's Mild, on November 27 demanding that Carlsberg reverses its decision to take the beloved Banks's beer out of pubs.
The beer has been brewed right here in the West Midlands for 150 years and has been a firm favourite of many.
However Carlsberg, which is closing Wolverhampton's historic Banks's Brewery in autumn next year, says it no longer has plans for it in the future - meaning the popular Mild will no longer be available in pubs come the end of the year.
The petition has since been signed by 2,099 Mild-lovers in a bid to revert the brewing giant's decision.
Some Mild fans left comments of support on the petition, which can be found here.
James Price from Stourbridge said: "Banks's Mild is as a superb beer and should be brewed for another 150 proud years!"
Louise Clive from Wolverhampton commented: "Banks's has always been and is a major part of Wolverhampton, at least something of it should continue!"
And Andy Hill from County Durham said: "Banks's Mild is an iconic, 'working class' Black Country Ale. It needs to stay, just so we don't destroy our heritage... For the love of our ways, please make sure Banks's Mild stays."
